
David Moraga Jr. is a Percussionist, Composer, Arranger, and Visual Designer from Fairfield, California. He began his musical journey at Crystal Middle School in 2014, starting in concert band before joining the winter percussion on cymbals for the 2015 season, which lead him to Rodriguez High School from 2015 to 2018, earning numerous awards, including six first-place Open Class trophies at the Northern California Band Association (NCBA) in 2017.
David's success continued with Thesis Indoor Percussion, securing four first-place titles in the Independent World Class category at the Northern California Percussion Alliance (NCPA). His achievements also include two fifth-place finishes at the Winter Guard International (WGI) in Long Beach and competing at the WGI World Championships in Dayton, Ohio, in 2023.
As an educator, David has significantly impacted multiple music programs. At Hogan Middle School, he taught and composed until 2020, enriching the students' skills and artistry. At Pioneer Valley High School, he composed and arranged music that transformed the school's program.
In 2023, David took on a broader role at Mountain House High School, where he teaches, composes, arranges, and designs for the marching band and winter percussion programs. Under his leadership, the programs achieved a remarkable turnaround, moving from last to second place in their division.
In 2024, David joined Vanden High School as a percussion instructor and arranger. Within a few months, he was promoted to Visual Caption Head, where he continues to inspire and lead. In 2025, David will expand his role with Thesis Indoor Percussion as a Visual Instructor, furthering his influence in the marching arts.
