My first BD Alumnus Bio is scribbled on the back of an original cymbal score for "La Fiesta" then buried out at Mars at the intersection of front hash and 20 yard-line on side 1 (that spot was the furthest this drummer ever strayed from the 50-yard line except during retreats).
(Mars...mmm...can you smell that smell?!).
Great to see a Blue Devils-sponsored venue where one can reflect on a really cool - at least I didn't say "groovy" - era and a great group of performers; cheaper than therapy too.
Married with kids and a mortgage. Higher Ed. documents with a few B's S's & A's hang on the office wall which qualify me to be my kids' dad.
Alisa and I married in 1990. She loves me in spite of myself. Met her during a 2-year mission for the Mormon Church (stop laughing, Goose). Alisa taught high school until our youngest, Emily (3)"Thing Two", was born in 1998. She's home running "Sirat Inc." working 24-7 now. Britt (13)is our flutist (will audition for marching woodwind @ Garfield in 2005). Jay (10)is a top-5 swimmer in the state. Troy (5)"Thing One", is a natural drummer; has a wicked left-hand wrist turn. The boys look like me. The girls...er...don't.
Have lived in Las Vegas since 1997. Own a blinds & solar screen company.
On the side I teach local HS kids & judge drums...er...per-cus-sion @ local shows.
I've met a few alumni since moving from Concord. Stephen, the Floats, Scooter, Wiggy, Crosby, Randall, the Glyde Bros, Buecker, Kevin Murray, Robyn Conley (Robyn still has a few years left before she ages out, yes?), Peggy Hill and BLAST! sensation little Vernon Johnson come to mind. Recently judged a band show along side "Neidermeyer." I actually smiled and shook his hand.
I owe Scott Jacobs a kiss on the mouth. I haven't forgotton, Jake. I'll never forget. Yes. I miss you too.
