After aging out in 1979, enlisted in the US Navy as a nuclear-trained electronics technician. Spent six years on submarines and three years teaching at the Naval Nuclear Power school before receiving a commission. Served in the Persian Gulf war on a nuclear cruiser, spent another three years teaching at the Nuclear Power Command, served two years in Italy as the Quality Assurance Officer onboard a submarine repair tender, and finished up my naval career here at the naval shipyard in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Now working as the deputy Training Administrator.
I have two children, Derek and Heather, both living in Concord.
On the side, I still run. To date, I've done 20 marathons, including one Boston, a handful of sprint triathlons, and grunches of shorter races.
