Justin Heimbecker is originally from Upper Darby, a suburb of Philadelphia, PA. He holds a bachelor's degree in Music Education from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Heimbecker spent his career in a variety of roles in drum corps and music education, before arriving at BD Performing Arts.
He served as the Assistant Director of The Cadets from 2007-11, and held a similar role with the Boston Crusaders from 2012-13, while also serving on the production staff for the Tournament of Champions series of drum corps events.
Heimbecker has also spent time in the classroom setting, teaching elementary music in the Philadelphia area. In the face of severe budget cuts, he contributed to a successful "Save the Arts" campaign in Upper Darby, which led to his appointment as Director of the Schoener MusicMan Camp, a summer experience which aims to provide underserved youth with access to instrumental music lessons.
Heimbecker has most recently held the title of USBands Director. Supporting and facilitating nearly 150 marching band events for more than 700 schools each Fall, he also led the growth of an indoor circuit, the creation of a high-profile concert festival series, and educational clinics for educators and students throughout the year.
Justin and his wife Kelly are thrilled to join the BDPA family, and look forward to contributing to the continued success of the entire organization.
