
Adrien Alkazzaz is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Music Education with a concentration in tuba from the University of North Texas, studying under former principal tuba of the Fort Worth Symphony and Dallas Opera Orchestra, Donald C. Little and current principal tuba and cimbasso of the Dallas Opera, Dr. Jeff Baker. Alkazzaz attended Keller High School in Keller, TX under the direction of DCI judge, Mark McGahey.
While a student at UNT, Alkazzaz performed in a variety of ensembles including the 6:00 Tuba Euphonium Ensemble under Dr. Brian Bowman and David Childs, the UNT Wind Ensemble and UNT Brass Band under Dr. Nicholas Enrico Williams and the UNT Symphonic Band under Dennis W. Fisher. Alkazzaz was also nominated for Outstanding Undergraduate Brass Student of the Year his junior year.
Alkazzaz’s marching band and drum corps experience includes marching with the Santa Clara Vanguard in 2014 and 2015 and the Blue Devils in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019, earning silver medals in 2016 and 2018 and a gold medal and the DCI World Championship in 2017. Alkazzaz was also a visual technician for the University of North Texas Green Brigade Marching Band and the Flower Mound High School Marching Band from Flower Mound, TX in 2018, in which they were named the 2018 BOA San Antonio Super Regional Champions and a silver medalist at 2018 UIL State Marching Contest.
