Students from his private bassoon studio have qualified for All-State and regional honor bands on both the middle school and high school levels in Kentucky and Tennessee.
Highly engaged in the realm of drum corps and marching band from an early age, Turner’s marching experience includes two years with the Madison Scouts and two years with the Concord Blue Devils, all on tuba. He spent two summers on the brass staff of the Oregon Crusaders, including spending the 2018 season as the Low Brass Coordinator, before joining the brass faculty of the Blue Stars for the 2019 season. Currently, he is on the brass instructional staff of the Concord Blue Devils, and has taught or consulted with high school groups across the Southeastern United States.
