
Brooke Farrar is the current Instrumental Music Director at Freedom High School in Oakley, California, and is a freelance utility brass and trombone player that is active in the greater Sacramento and Bay Area.
Ms. Farrar has performed and taught at a variety of musical programs as an educator and choreographer both in northern and central California. She revived the Freedom High School’s Marching Band halftime field shows, and musical pit orchestras. She values all of her military-style wind ensembles, jazz band, chamber orchestra, and marching ensembles, and challenges her students to access their love of music through a variety of holistic musical experiences.
Ms. Farrar is also a part of the musical non-profit performing arts program, “The Blue Devils”, based in Concord, California which values performance through excellence and accessibility to local communities. She is an alumni of the C corps in 2016, the B corps from 2017-2018, and then went over to the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps in Denver, Colorado, and was with their organization as a performer from 2019-2021. She is the Brass Caption Head of the Blue Devils ‘C’ Corps and is on staff as a brass consultant for the Blue Devils ‘B’ corps.
Ms. Farrar holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from University of the Pacific with an emphasis in brass performance. She is also an active alumni member of the Sigma Alpha Iota music fraternity.
Ms. Farrar currently resides in Walnut Creek, CA with her partner Ora, and her cat Misty.
