The BDWinds ensemble has wrapped up a truly unforgettable week of music, connection, and exploration in the Pacific Northwest. From collaborative performances to awe-inspiring excursions, the Seattle tour offered our young musicians both artistic enrichment and personal growth.
Music in Motion
The tour’s musical highlights were as meaningful as they were memorable. BDWinds had the privilege of engaging in a rehearsal exchange with Pierce College and performing alongside the talented students at Tacoma Community College. A standout moment came during a performance at the Tacoma Museum of Glass, where the ambiance and acoustics created a magical experience that will stay with us for years to come.
These moments of collaboration and performance captured the heart of the BDWinds experience: young artists coming together to share their craft, support one another, and grow through music.
Cultural Exploration and Shared Adventures
In addition to performing, students immersed themselves in the natural and cultural beauty of the region. A hike on Mt. Rainier, complete with a snowy summit, provided a breathtaking challenge. Visits to Kubota Garden and the Pacific Bonsai Museum connected our students with elements of Japanese culture that reflect our ensemble’s buraban philosophy.
The group also enjoyed classic Pacific Northwest experiences, including attending a Rainiers minor league baseball game, exploring Point Defiance State Park, taking a ferry to Vashon Island, and touring downtown Seattle.
Some of the most meaningful memories were made at our private lodge. Members cooked meals together, played games, kayaked in the pond, and deepened friendships that make this ensemble truly special. It was a week of bonding, growth, and joy.
the Tour was a beautiful reflection of the BDWinds mission. Our members shined musically, grew personally, and created lifelong memories together. We are proud of their hard work and grateful to everyone who helped make this tour possible.
We look forward to building on this success and creating even more transformative opportunities in the future.
