They Don't Say "Blue Who?" Anymore

50 Years Later: Celebrating the Blue Devils' First World Championship

In 1976, the Blue Devils achieved a milestone that would help shape the future of the organization and establish a legacy of excellence that continues today. Fifty years later, alumni, staff, volunteers, family members, and friends are invited to come together for a special Homecoming Weekend celebrating the Blue Devils' first World Championship title.

The 1976 Blue Devils captured the Open Class Championship with a score of 92.700, marking the beginning of a championship tradition that would become one of the most recognized legacies in the marching arts. Their historic season inspired generations of performers and helped transform the Blue Devils into the organization we know today.

To honor this landmark anniversary, a series of events will take place during Homecoming Weekend, offering opportunities to reconnect with former corpsmates, celebrate shared memories, and experience the excitement of the current Blue Devils season.

Honoring a Legacy

The phrase featured on the commemorative artwork, "They Don't Say Blue Who? Anymore," captures a defining moment in Blue Devils history. What began as a groundbreaking championship season in 1976 grew into a legacy recognized throughout the marching arts community.

Today, that legacy lives on through every performer who wears the uniform, every volunteer who gives their time, and every alumnus who continues to call the Blue Devils family home.

We look forward to celebrating this historic milestone together and honoring the people who helped make it possible.
