Blue Devils and FJM: The Perfect Match

2007-03-05

In Championship Drum Corps, creating the perfect team is the ultimate goal. Whether it’s inventing the most exciting musical and visual effects, or helping each member become the strongest performer possible, the 11-time Drum Corps International Champion The Blue Devils, from Concord, California, always succeed. Being part of that team requires partners of vision and imagination equal to that of The Blue Devils. So it’s no surprise that Fred J. Miller, Inc. is the ongoing choice for Uniforms, Flags, Rifles, Sabres, Shoes, and Stretchwear which meet the exacting standards of this amazing group.

First partnering in 1995, the Blue Devil/FJM team has presented some of the most famous and copied looks in Pageantry. Working with Director David Gibbs and his Design Staff, New York Designer Michael J. Cesario produced a series of uniforms over the years that display the varying facets of the sleek, sophisticated Blue Devil identity. Working exclusively with the craftsmen of FJM , Cesario has been able to realize the vivid look and fit that marks the Corps wherever it performs, going so far as to create “BD Blue”, their signature color. Gibbs stated, “We enjoyed welcoming Michael as a creative partner with our organization. He’s done a great job of responding to all of our needs including our “B” and “C” Corps giving them individual looks that mark them as part of the BD family.”

Continuing the unique partnerships between The Blue Devils and FJM , Program Coordinator and Color Guard Maestro Scott Chandler joined fellow DCI Hall-of-Famer Cesario at the Design Studios of FJM . His “Chandler Collection” of fresh, innovative stretchwear has been a sure-fire hit, worn by Color Guards and Dancers across the USA. A dash of California color and unique dramatic line make his exclusive concepts for FJM the distinctive choice for indoor and outdoor guards.

Marlene Miller, FJM Chief, said it best. “When it comes to partners, we couldn’t ask for a better match than the Blue Devils. Their goals of excellence and community outreach reflect our own family commitment to the growth of individual performers and the whole activity.” In the case of Blue Devils/FJM , it was sharing the ultimate goal that created the perfect team.

FJM , Inc. is a proud Sponsor of the Blue Devils, as well as Drum Corps International, and Bands of America.
