Blue Devils take well deserved World Open Title

Everett, Mass. - Aug. 9, 1975. Tonight, the Concord Blue Devils became the 1975 World Open Champions with the highest score for a junior drum corps in a major national contest in the last fifteen years. Awarded a 91.05, the Blue Devils executed their high GE show well in all captions. The Blue Devil show has a style that I don't believe I've seen in any other national coontender for many years - perhaps since the Chicago Royal Airs. Their Buddy Rich, Tower of Power, and Chuck Mangione charts combine into a show with a very contemporary, "laid-back" but exciting style. A great show. ...
