Diablo Wind Symphony Features Acclaimed Brass Ensemble
The Diablo Wind Symphony will present its first concert of the season on Sunday, October 15, 5pm, at the San Ramon High School Performing Arts Center, 501 Danville Ave, Danville, CA.
The concert will also feature the acclaimed Bay Area brass ensemble Brazzissimo. The DWS selections include Joy Revisited (Ticheli), Irish Tune from County Derry (Grainger), First Suite in Eb for Military Band (Holst), and The Corcoran Cadets March (Sousa).
Brazzissimo was started in 2004 by a group of bay area professional brass players who wanted to explore a variety of brass music spanning all styles and time periods. It is a ten piece group consisting of four trumpets, french horn, four trombones (including euphonium), and one tuba. Music on this concert ranges from Biebl’s Ave Maria to Jacob Gabe’s Jealousy.
"We are beyond excited for the first concert of the season and hope you will bring the entire family to see the Diablo Wind Symphony" –John Maltester, Conductor, Artistic Director.
The 57-member DWS is made up of outstanding high school and college musicians in the area who present four concerts a season that feature prominent guest artists.
Admission is $6 for general and $2 for students and senior citizens. Tickets will be available at the door.
