The show opened with "Chant and Jubilo", and continued with the popular music from the production Porgy & Bess, (Bess You is My Woman, It Ain't, Necessarily So). Chuck Mangione's "Legend of the One-Eyed Sailor" was introduced this year and became one of the Blue Devils most popular pieces. "Feel of a Vision," "Touch of Venus", and Bilie Holidays' "Lady Sings the Blues" were the rest of musical selections for this exciting show. The Blue Devils thank the late Carl Jefferson of Concord Jazz for giving us the idea for the jazz theme that continued for all these years. The corps placed ninth at the Ithica, New York Championships.
