This years show opened with John LaBarbera's "Space Shuttle" as performed by Buddy Richs' big band. A melody of Tower of Powers' "Loves Been Gone Too Long", "What is Hip?", and "Squib Cakes" was a big hit. Concert was Chuck Mangione's Legend of a "One Eyed Sailor" and "Feel of a Vision". Chuck Mangione's selection "Chase the Clouds Away" was the exit and became the musical signature of the Blue Devils. The corps took 3rd place that year and paved the road to the 1976 Championship.
