Feeling nostalgic, I looked at the ’79 Tour Schedule and noticed a few errors…since this was my "won & done" year, those dates are seared into my memory banks...courtesy of my Google calendar...

Finals were 8/17/79, not 8/10, and were at Legion Field in Birmingham, not Samford University, and we stayed at Homewood High School in B’ham, which is also on Lakeshore Drive, which might have caused that confusion… changing that date back a week should drop that entry down to the bottom along with the score… and Prelims would then shift to 8/16, with quarters on the 15th…

Secondly, we did not visit North Carolina on ’79 tour, but we DID stay/show in Huntington, WV (with Les Chatelaines, which is why I remember that one…) but I’m unsure of the actual date and am having difficulty finding history on the Huntington, WV show in ’79, but it would make sense to stop there on the way from Allentown to Birmingham… we rehearsed in searing heat in B’ham for at least 2-3 days, so Huntington might have been 8/13/79???

Moving those dates around would update the tour stop map as we went Stillwater/Whitewater / US Open (Marion, OH), Allentown (laundry & dorms & BEDDING!!!), Huntington, WV, Birmingham, then the long bus-ride back to Oakley Kansas (National Guard Armory 1), (stop in Denver to drop off Kelly the cymbal player and one of the guard, and on to Winnemucca NV (National Guard Armory 2) and then back to Concord on I-80 thru the Sierras…

One of the best summers of my life...
