November Camp FAQs

How do I register?

1. Click here, then click on the event you want to attend and follow the registration instructions.
2. Soon after completing that process, you will receive an additional confirmation email from us.
3. Additional details and information about the event will be posted and emailed as we get closer to the event date.

What do I do if I can’t complete my checkout on Eventbrite?

• If the "Place Order" button is not available/clickable, it's because
  • A required field is not complete or
  • The credit card/PayPal info is not completely filled out

What do I do if I didn't get a confirmation email from Eventbrite?

• If another person filled out the registration form, please ask them to forward you the confirmation email they received.

Where do I sign in to my BDPA Account?

• Sign into your BDPA account here. If you don't already have an account from a previous experience with BDPA, one will be created for you when registering for an audition.

Where will everything be on campus?

I received a callback, is there a discount for the summer experiences and auditions?

• Yes, after you have received the feedback from your virtual audition submission, please sign into your BDPA account and click on the "Audition Info" Tab in your dashboard, then under the feedback section you will see a message with the promo code.
• Feedback is scheduled to be completed by the end of day on May 15th.
• If you do not recieve a message and promo code by May 16th, please contact us at [email protected].

I did not receive a callback, do I get a discount for the summer experiences and auditions?

I did not receive a callback, can I audition again?

• Yes, you are welcomed and encouraged to attend as many BD Audition Events as possible. You can choose to audition again (each time) or use the opportunity to learn and play with the Blue Devils during 2021.

When will I be notified about tour fees?

• You will receive information about fees for the year at the November Audition Events.

Do I need to bring my instrument or equipment?

• Yes, while we do have some instruments, we recommended that you bring your own instrument or equipment.
  • Brass - If you have it, bring it.
  • Battery - If you have it, bring it, including drums, stands, carrier.
  • Front Ensemble - Bring any mallets you have
  • Guard - If you have it, bring it, this includes, flag (with pole), rifle, and saber

What are the Visual Guidelines for auditions?

• Each section's requirements are linked to below:
  • Brass
  • Battery
  • Guard

What should I wear?

• It is important you wear athletic clothes and cross-training athletic shoes for all Blue Devils auditions, and always bring a water bottle.

Do I have to audition in order to come to the BD November Audition Event?

• No, however, we do suggest that you get pre-screened at another summer event. This provides you more opportunities to work with the staff and become part of the Blue Devils culture.

Do we stay overnight?

• There is no overnight housing at the rehearsal site.

Do you accept day or registrations (walk-ups)?

• Yes, however for planning purposes it is preferred you register ahead of time.

Are snacks or meals provided?

• During the Blue Devils Audition Event, some meals are provided. We will post the schedule and these details when the event date is closer.

Are there any forms I need to fill out?

• Yes, please complete the Medical Form and turn in during event check in.

Are there Health and Safety Guidelines?

• Yes, we will provide all guidelines and acknowledgements as soon as those are available.

Travel and Housing Details

The November 19-21 Audition Camp will be held at Rodriquez HS, 5000 Red Top Rd, Fairfield CA, 94534. The daily and hourly schedule can be found on our online calendar.

Meals: We will provide, at no cost to you, breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday November 20, and breakfast and lunch on Sunday November 21.

Housing: Please secure your own overnight housing for this weekend. There are many hotels of various price levels near Fairfield, CA. Options such as AirBnB may also be available.

Flying to Concord/Fairfield and transport to Rodriguez HS:

We suggest Oakland (OAK) or San Francisco (SFO) but NOT San Jose International. From Oak or SFO take the BART train to the North Concord/Martinez Bart station. https://www.bart.gov/

From there we encourage you to take Uber or Lyft to the rehearsal site.

For this specific camp at Rodriguez HS, we will be running a shuttle from the North Concord BART to RHS (times TBD).

From OAKLAND AIRPORT to Concord:

1. The Oakland Airport BART station is located just across from the Terminal 1 baggage claim and a short walk from Terminal 2.
2. Take the train to the Coliseum station and transfer to the Richmond train.
3. Take the Richmond train to 12th St./Oakland City Center then transfer to a Bay Point/Pittsburg train. Get off at North Concord/Martinez station.

Fare is approximately $10.60. Trains run approximately every 15 minutes. BART info: 415-922-2278 or https://www.bart.gov/

From SAN FRANCISCO AIRPORT to Concord

1. The SFO BART station is located on the Departures/Ticketing Level of the International Terminal Main Hall.
2. Take the Pittsburg/Bay Point train to the North Concord/Martinez station.

Fare is approximately $11.50. Trains run approximately every 15 minutes. BART info: 415-922-2278 or https://www.bart.gov/
