What is the history of the Blue Devils?

What is a typical season like for the Blue Devils?

A season involves extensive rehearsal camps, a summer tour across the United States, and performances at major competitions, including the DCI World Championships.

What instruments and equipment are used?

The Blue Devils use brass instruments like trumpets, mellophones, baritones, and tubas; a wide range of percussion instruments, which included snare, tenors, bass, mallets, and drum set; and color guard equipment such as flags, rifles, and sabers.

What does "Open Class" mean?

Open Class refers to the level of competition in Drum Corps International (DCI), an international governing body for drum and bugle corps.  Open Class corps like the Blue Devils B compete at a professional level, showcasing straightforward music, choreography, and visual storytelling.  Learn more about Drum Corps International.

Can I watch the Blue Devils perform?

Absolutely! The Blue Devils perform at various events during their summer tour. You can also catch them at the DCI World Championships or view performances online through FloMarching and our Youtube Channel.

Why is an activity like this important?

The Blue Devils provide more than just a performance experience.  We foster personal growth, building lifelong friendships, and develop skills that help young people succeed in school, careers, and life.

How much does it cost to participate and what do fees cover?

The exact participation fees vary from year to year, but generally the cost for participating in the Blue Devils* is approximately $2,500-$3,900 (depending on season show schedule).  Payment can be made in installments. Installment due dates are sent out to members upon acceptance.

Participation fees include spring training rehearsal space, most spring training meals, tour travel, tour meals, tour housing, instruction, uniform/costume(not including makeup or undergarments), and all necessary equipment (not including mouthpieces for bras).

Where do i go to find out about auditions.

You can find current audition information under the "Audition" Button at the top right of the Blue Devils Website when there are active auditions. When there are no active auditions, please refer to the Calendar and News Articles for upcoming dates and information.

How can I support the Blue Devils mission?

You can support the Blue Devils by attending performances and events, donating, volunteering, or purchasing merchandise.

Where do I sign in to my BDPA Account?

Sign into your BDPA account here. If you don't already have an account from a previous experience with BDPA, one will be created for you when registering for any program or buying any ticket. If you are not sure if you have an account - Click Here.  If you do a password reset, an email will be sent (CHECK SPAM)

For Auditionees or Participants under 18 years old, a parent or guardian must also be attached to your account. Please follow the steps below to update your information:

1. Log in
2. Click General info
3. Enter Your Date of Birth in the designated field.
4. Click the Save Button
5. Click My Family on the left-hand side
6. Click Add Family Member Button
7. Fill in the information boxes and click Add Family Member.

I'm trying to pay for a ticket or registration, but my card won't go through. What do I do?

Payment Declined? Here’s What to Check:
If your payment is declined, it may be due to one of the following reasons:

• Insufficient Funds: Ensure your account has enough balance for the transaction.
• Daily Spending Limit: Some debit cards have a daily transaction cap. You may need to contact your bank to raise it temporarily.
• Card Restrictions: Your bank may block large or unusual transactions for security reasons. Try calling them to approve the payment.
• Incorrect Information: Double-check your card number, expiration date, CVV, and billing address.
• Expired Card: Ensure your card is still valid and hasn’t expired.

Recommended Fixes:

• Contact your bank to check for any restrictions.
• Try a different card or payment method.
• Attempt smaller amounts over a few days.
• Wait a few minutes and try again.
